Grilled Watermelon Ingredients:
- 1 Watermelon
- 2 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Salt and Pepper
- Cilantro (Optional Garnish)
- Jalapenos (Optional Garnish)
Grilled Watermelon Preparation Instructions:
Slice watermelon into desired “steak” sizes. Keep watermelon approximately 1 Inch thick. Sprinkle salt onto both sides of each watermelon slice. Stand slices on edge on a rack or sink pan and let them drain for 30 minutes. Preheat grill to high.
After watermelon has drained, rinse each piece under cold running water. Place each piece between two paper towels and press to remove excess water, stop before melon starts to crunch.
Brush each side of the slices with olive oil. Grill on high heat until you see grill marks and the melon begins to soften (approx. 5 minutes). Remove from grill and dust with salt and ground pepper.
